West Village, NYC

West Village, Courtyard Viewing Garden

Taken from construction site rife with invasive bamboo, to meditative oasis—this is not just a garden room with a view: the clients enjoy regular meals here, quiet moments away from the city bustle, their granddaughter plays games in the shade of the pagoda dogwood. A riot of soft spring colors break the stillness of the winter yews and varied summer greens of texture & hue, give way to the oranges & golds of autumn. A garden view enjoyed both immersively outside and from within.

Fairfield, Connecticut

Tight on space and short on sun, native woodland ephemerals and wildlife-loving shrubs make a big statement on a small lot.

Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

Clinton Hill Dry Creek Bed

Formerly a ping pong ball factory, this desirable loft residence now hosts an evolving dry riverbed design as its green space. Full of native ferns, spice bush, ninebark, asters, and witchhazel, this garden’s diversity truly sings throughout the seasons. A final fall chorus is bold in color & contrast, even when the wind blows golden tree leaves onto a fresh fall clean. Perfectly wabi sabi.

Chelsea, NYC

Views of the Empire State Building and the east side of NYC, are enjoyed from this Highline-inspired Chelsea terrace garden. Native grasses, milkweed, baptisia, stonecrop, and wild bergamot assume different lives in the different seasons.

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Rooftop Office Terrace

In this garden, the sun & the wind are relentless. Positioned overlooking downtown Brooklyn, this office terrace offers three directional sweeping views: the New York City Harbor, Verrazano Bridge, Barclay’s Center…just to name a few sights. In organic, hand-cast concrete planters, prairie-type grasses and ornamental pines thrive; native flowers & stonecrop copiously bloom in the intense sun; plants not only withstand the elements, but are beautifully shaped by them as well.

Greenwich Village, NYC

Elegant courtyard and rooftop deck are host to native and ornamental plants alike. Dogwoods, Serviceberries, Calycanthus, and loads of fern, balance the climbing roses that perform well into the fall.

West Village, NYC, Mary's Fish Camp

Iconic West Village Restaurant

The garden on the corner of West 4th Street & Charles, once limited to a passerby’s or indoor diner’s view, can now be enjoyed while eating a delicious lobster roll or Thai-Style whole fish. Al fresco dining got even better when Mary’s could set up shop amongst the oakleaf hydrangea and sea oats.

North Stamford, CT

A refuge from Manhattan, this property has offered an abundance of seasonal edibles from spring to fall. Surrounded by glacially carved terrain, interplanted with native perennials, shrubs, and trees, on any given day, we’ve spotted a plethora of wildlife and pollinators.
